Congratulations – Celebration With Yummy Menus and Recipes!

America loves to celebrate and what better way to say congratulations for any achievement than by throwing a fun party. Whether the milestone was big or small, throwing a party can be as much fun as attending one.

The first step in saying congratulations to a friend or family member is to set a date and time with the guest of honor. Then it’s time to plan the menu. Celebratory Cranberry Martinis, Good Luck Lemon Lime Chicken, Jolly Good Fellow Fries and Hooray Heavenly Cake. Have a variety of of non-alcoholic beverages on hand for guests of all ages to enjoy. Beer can also be handy for adults to consume.

Saying congratulations by making Good Luck Lemon Lime Chicken is simple. First gather 2 to 4 boneless chicken breasts, 1 green pepper, cut in strips, 1 red pepper, cut in strips, 2 med. onions, cut in slivers, 6 to 8 good-sized mushrooms, sliced, 1 lime, 1/2 lemon, 1/4 c. white wine, and garlic powder. Next cut chicken in strips. Marinate in juice of lime for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with garlic powder and let sit 10 more minutes. In the meantime, go ahead and sauté the onion until shiny. Add peppers and mushrooms. Cook until crunchy, do not over cook. In separate pan, sauté chicken strips in butter or oil very quickly until chicken turns white, stirring constantly. Lower heat, add lemon juice and wine. Combine chicken with vegetables. Mix and serve over linguini or rice. This dish serves 6 to 8 people.

No matter how you tell someone congratulations make it a party for all guests to remember.

The 21st Birthday Party Celebration

In many westernized countries the 21st birthday is a milestone symbolizing that a youth has come-of-age. The age of twenty one is usually the time when one is considered fully adult, able to sign contracts and drink alcohol. This milestone birthday is usually very rowdily celebrated, especially when the party group consists almost entirely of youths. There is a birthday tradition in countries such as America, New Zealand, and Britan to drink twenty-one shots of alcohol to mark the event, but this often gets the new adults into lots of trouble.

Many 21st birthday celebrations can be held at home or with a mixture of family and friends to help curb the tendency to abuse alcohol on this occasion. Lots of party supplies are designed for the 21st birthday. You’ll find napkins with the number boldly emblazoned on them, streamers, balloons and so on. Celebrate the 21st birthday with some elegance using light up wine glasses, champagne glasses, or even light up pitchers for the beer. The glasses can also serve as party favors for the guests to take home.

It is traditional to have a highly decorated cake for the birthday guy or gal and to have the same number of lighted candles on the cake as the age of the birthday honoree. You can get trick candles that don’t go out no matter how many times the person blows on them. Or if you don’t feel that you’ll be eating much cake at the party the guests might get a kick out of an inflatable plastic cake on display at the party.

You’ll also find that it is tradition for the birthday boy or girl to buy everyone at the party a round of drinks. Maybe the birthday boy or girl could buy everyone a light up champagne glass instead.

Coming Together to Celebrate the Play

London’s West End is, along with Broadway, one of the most famous and celebrated centres of theatre across the globe.

This theatrical world offers an eclectic mix of historic venues – like The Savoy, The Globe and Old Vic – and alternates between tradition and innovation to deliver both firm favourites and daring new works to the stage.

The theatres of London, from the smallest to the largest, are a breeding ground for new talent, but they also attract established stars – even world-renowned American movie stars – who are keen to prove their acting credentials.

And it’s continuing to grow. In fact, the West End has had bumper year with a 23 per cent increase recorded in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period the previous year.

To continue this exciting increase, the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) has created an online community known as “Celebrate The Play”.

It is all about bringing the industry and theatregoers together to, as the name suggests, celebrate the play.

The new scheme is great news for theatre fans, as they can discover all the latest news regarding plays, shows and performances in London – not just the West End – and enjoy discounts when attending.

Notable highlights of the West End feature in the scheme, including high-profile productions such as The Shawshank Redemption, The 39 Steps, Breakfast at Tiffany’s plus the world’s longest-running play, The Mousetrap.

The latest plays are included too, with new plays by Butterworth, Hare and Bennett plus revivals from Shaw, Coward and Shakespeare appearing on the programme of events.

There is also the opportunity to enjoy the acting exploits of some famous names – with Keira Knightly, Richard “I don’t believe it” Wilson, and Anna Friel all set to take to the stage in London during 2009 and beyond. You can be sure that other well-known stars will be signing up to be part of future plays.

The new venture encourages theatregoers to try something different through the “Play of the Week” section which brings a different, exciting production into the mindset of Celebrate The Play subscribers.

For these who sign up to the scheme, there is also the bonus of benefiting from a number of special deals through the scheme’s partners. They include Waterstone’s, Divine Chocolate, Naked Wines and Pizza Express.

Basically, Celebrate The Play makes it even easier to be up to date with all the latest happenings in Theatreland and to enjoy a night out at a discount price. What’s not to like?

Celebrating Baby’s Christening

After you’ve gone to the church to have the baby’s christening ceremony it’s customary to celebrate with a small party at home or at some other business. You can usually find a place for the party that is suitable but that doesn’t mean you’ll have an easy time figuring out what kind of decoration is suitable for the party. Since it’s a religious event that you are celebrating you may wish to have a more dignified atmosphere at the party.

A brunch party can often be a good idea and a great way to relax before or after the ceremony. The food served at the brunch is light and easy on the stomach, plus you can make up much of the food beforehand and serve it slightly chilled at the party. A white wine can also be served at the brunch.

The color theme can be just about anything you want to use, but its traditional that the baby wear a white christening gown so you may want to use white streamers, balloons, plates and napkins with just a light accent of gold trim or yellow trim. A popular theme to use at religious events is doves, and bibles and even crosses. So you may want to pick up some wall hangings of doves and crosses. Candles can add to the atmosphere of your brunch party, especially if you light theme and place them on a buffet where guests can serve themselves.

Good party favors to give as gifts at the party are usually personal keepsakes that the friends and family can use to help them remember the special event. A small picture frame with a picture of the baby set in it can be an excellent and inexpensive gift to give. You can also give the gift of a white vanilla scented candle to the guests.

Hostess Tips for Home Entertaining

More than 40% of Americans report they will be doing more dining at home in the next year. That’s bad news for the restaurant industry but good news for the many companies that provide products and services for home entertaining.

All over the world one of the most common traits that people have is that we love to celebrate. Whether it is a lifetime achievement, rite of passage, family gathering or a gala affair, we mark the occasion with food and cheer. While the menu is certainly a highlight of any festive occasion, there is a whole series of rituals – the dance – that go into making the occasion unique and memorable. Whether a formal dinner or casual get-together, the host sets the tone of the occasion at the invitation conception. Along with food planning, the host will follow cultural and social traditions which dictate celebration themes, etiquette, and timelines. It is easy to find interesting entertaining facts, fun ideas and handy tips to make this dance easy on the web.

There are numerous websites and blogs dedicated to home entertaining and party ideas. According to the Top Ten lists, wine has risen up the ranks of popularity to become the second most popular hostess gift after flowers. Wine gifts are the perfect thank you gift as most people appreciate a nice bottle of wine. A new trend is to decorate your bottle with a fun bow or ornament rather than putting it in a wine bag. This makes the wine appear as a true gift rather than just a contribution to the bar. With a endless supply of cooking shows on TV networks, lots of magazines dedicated to entertaining and hundreds of blogs giving people ideas about parties and decorating, the home entertaining trend seems here to stay.
