What to Buy Your Wife This Christmas

There is one woman in every man’s life that has his heart and his hearth. She gives him comfort, joy and progeny and deserves only the best, whatever the occasion. Still, buying a gift for this special woman seems like a daunting task to many men.

Getting a gift for your wife is not as tough as it seems and this Christmas, win her heart again by purchasing a special gift for her. For every occasion, jewellery always delights a woman. A ring for her finger, a bracelet for her wrist or a delicate necklace to put around her neck are enchanting gifts. This gift can never grow old, and I would advise next year to buy a pretty trinket for your wife again.

Another gift that no woman has ever said no to is a pretty handbag. Either buy her a casual bag to carry to work or the supermarket, or buy a chic clutch or a formal bag for those special evenings out. On another note, pamper your wife and get her a gift certificate to a spa or a salon. Treat her to a new hairstyle, manicure, and pedicure. That would make her feel really special. Also indulge in her sweet fantasies and get a chocolate or exotic fruit gift basket for her. Vintage wine is also sure to please.

But before you pay up for any of these luxuries, consider if there is something your wife has wanted for some time now. Has she been nagging you about getting a new dishwasher, clothes drier, iron, or a plumber (just kidding)? Then, this is the perfect moment to get that home appliance for her. Take care that she has actually asked for it though – a new vacuum for Christmas, if it has not been specifically requested, might not go down too well!

Also, if your wife has no help and you see that the children are taking a toll on her nerves, why not get a nanny for her this Christmas and show her how important her wellbeing is to you. Repainting your bedroom, purchasing a new couch or getting a new carpet for her (and your) room are also sensible gifts that she can use and appreciate too.

Formal apparel can also be a good Christmas gift for your wife, as well as a new pair of shoes that she has been sighing over for a long time. Cashmere sweaters would also make your better half beam. Then, you can also get her really cute gifts like a reusable jar full of reasons why you love her printed on small pieces of coloured paper, funny refrigerator magnets, or a charm bracelet with a charm for all your special and lovely memories. She would also enjoy receiving a bath gift set with bath confetti and lotions. You may also buy a luxury towel set in a basket or a new bathrobe that she can use.

Whatever you get her though, make sure you tell her how special she is and how much she means to you. A gift coupled with this comment would no doubt make this Christmas one in a million for her.

Last Minute Gifts

It always seems like you are rushing out the door for one thing or another, and it might feel like no matter what you do, you are often forgetting things. Gifts are something that can easily be forgotten. It might be that birthday party for your niece, graduation for your cousin or that anniversary for your friends that snuck up on you. No matter what it might be, you want to figure out a way that you can have gifts available at the last minute in case you did not get one so that you don’t arrive without a present in your hand.

Sometimes, it might be a good idea to have some gifts in your home that you can give, if you tend to always be short a gift and short on time. Things like manicure sets or other toiletry sets, picture frames, travel cases, passport holders, pencil and pen sets, and sweet decorative knickknacks are often great items to have on hand, and keep at your home, so that if you have forgotten a gift, you will find that you have one to give at the very last minute if necessary.

For almost any age group gift certificates to the local department store or any number of the huge amount of online stores on the Internet, or even local restaurants work great because they can be obtained easily and can be given at a moment’s notice in a card. Cards are always good to have on hand, for all occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries, and retirements. That way, if a gift escapes you, and you have no time to get one, you will at least have a card to give them.

Getting birthday gifts at the last minute might seem stressful, but in reality, it is something that you can do easily if you have laid the groundwork for such emergencies. All you need to do is know the age of the person that you are giving the gift to, and an idea of something that they like. Someone turning 50 who enjoys golf will truly enjoy a golf accessory set, with things like golf tools, towels, and all of the other things that they will need for a day of golfing. A young lady who has an apartment of her own will always love gifts like candles, decorations, scents and even plants.

A particularly good idea for a last minute gift is getting someone one of the many different “Gifts of the Month” offered online at many web sites. At these sites you can choose from gifts like “Flowers of the Month,” “Chocolates of the Month,” and such diverse things as wines, beer, restaurants, ice cream, and on and on. When you buy a “Gift of the Month” they’ll email you a gift certificate which you can print out immediately and present to the recipient.

Also a good idea is giving someone an “experience” they will never forget. Many web sites offer trips to spas, vacation spots and action-adventure type activities such as sky-diving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, and white-water rafting to name just a few. Like the “Gift of the Month” clubs, they will email you a gift certificate for the activity you’ve selected for your recipient.

Another last minute gift idea is an amazing, awesome gift found at a web site called Own a Piece of America where you can buy a piece of land in all 50 states of the United States of America and have a Deed certificate providing ownership to one square inch of land in all 50 states immediately emailed to you or directly to your indicated gift recipient. It’s really a clever, unique humorous gift. Imagine the surprise of someone who is celebrating and the gift that they get is “real estate” so that they become a land baron just like Donald Trump…except in a smaller way.

With a little bit of forethought, you can be prepared for having to give gifts at the last minute, simply by having some gifts purchased and set aside in your home for those times. Even if you don’t have gifts set aside, there are plenty of great gifts that you can find and have sent at the last minute.

Some excellent sites to go to for last minute gifts include Verycevergifts.com, Findgift.com, and Ownapieceofamerica.us.

Favor Facts – A Guide To Selecting The Perfect Wedding Favor

I am amazed at how often I am asked about this topic. Most brides are lost when trying to select the perfect favor to give guests. Why? Well, I believe that it has to do with the current changes in the industry. Weddings are becoming less “stick to the formal etiquette” and more personal. Brides and Grooms are older, more established and more fiscally responsible for their own events.

Favors were originally designed to share in the joyous occasion and pass along good luck to guests. They have since evolved to thanking guests for sharing in their event and to provide a memento of the day.
So, how do you choose the perfect one? Well, first of all, let’s go over the types of favors generally given to guests and the pro’s/con’s of each.

Types of Favors
1. Food or Beverages – everything from candy to fruit and from coffee to wine.

a. Pro’s – This category is filled with thousands of options to choose from. Most items can be easily personalized, through selected packaging and is fairly inexpensive. Most guests are delighted to receive an extra tasty treat to be shared on the ride home or back in their hotel room.

b. Con’s – Just remember that food and beverage items are perishable, so considerations of weather and storage should be accounted for. As well as, how long before the event these items should be ordered.

2. Gifts – you can choose to provide guest picture frames, bookmarks, glasses, candles and so much more.

a. Pro’s – This category is filled with so many options in a variety of styles, colors, shapes and sizes. The gift you select can easily be of a personal nature or have it easily customized to reflect you and your spouse.

b. Con’s – Sometimes the selection is overwhelming. Many couples want to choose gift that is sex-neutral and useful. Most of the time, gifts will be more expensive than traditional candy. So, watch your budget here!

3. Donations – this is a great new trend that allows the wedding couple to forgo the favor in lieu of making a donation to their favorite charity and sharing this news with their guests.

a. Pro’s – most guest are happy to leave the material memento to the wayside in efforts to help others in need. This also saves you time and effort in selecting, manufacturing and staging the favor.

b. Con’s – this favor selection has no con’s.

Well, now that you know what types of favors are available and their positive and negative attributes, let’s discuss how to present them to your guests.

Ways to Present Favors

1. At Each Place Setting – They may be placed directly on the plate or near the plate. By doing so, will add additional color to the place setting. This presentation also allows guests to receive your gift before the reception festivities begin and will provide an ice-breaker for conversation.

2. At An Exit Station – setting up a favor station to provide a small gift as your guests leave adds a little element of surprise. These stations are typically, set-up after dinner while guests are dancing. One thing to remember is to have your MCEE inform guests to take a gift, otherwise you may be left with extras.

3. At the Place Card Table – using a favor in conjunction with a place card is a great way to save some money, without sacrificing one or the other. The favor is arranged on the entrance table in alphabetical order (so guests can find their name and their seat). By choosing this method, give guests a sneak preview of what to expect from the reception. This method also ensures guests will pick-up their favor. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that they will remember to take it at the end of the night.

As for selecting the “right” favor, that’s up to you. You may want to consider an item that represents you and your spouse, or perhaps your budget will be a deciding factor. Just remember when you are selecting a favor to summarize the expense. The item may seem inexpensive on an individual basis, but when you multiple it by your guest list, that number may be more than you were anticipating to spend. And don’t forget, some favors require additional packaging, so those numbers count too.

Anniversary Celebrations With A Delicious Menu

Anniversary is a time of joy at which point one just looks back and see the years that had passed by, the ups and downs that came along, the love and happiness shared, sharing comfort during the rough times, etc. It is a time to see how the relationship got its foundation and how with time it grew stronger. Such times should be celebrated with great joy and detailed planning. The detailed planning must include writing invitations, decorations, planning the menu, etc. and this can be best achieved by jotting down the things on the paper from time to time so that a plan can be made and executed perfectly.

Among other things that need all your attention for the Anniversary Party, the most important is the menu that would make your guests rock. One such menu would be a three course meal to include Mussels Josephine as an appetizer, Chicken with Spinach and Mushrooms as the main dish and Caramel Pear Dessert. Apart from this there can be other recipes that you can look into but this course is tested and proven and many have enjoyed celebrating their anniversary with this course.

Chicken with Spinach and Mushrooms would be an excellent dish for the Anniversary Party. To make this recipe, you would need eight ounces of boneless skinless chicken breasts, four ounces of mushrooms, quartered two green onions, one cup grape tomatoes, half cup of white wine, half lemon, juice and zest of three garlic cloves, one pound sliced spinach, about two teaspoons of parmesan cheese and fresh grated salt pepper. These are the ingredients that you are going to need to prepare the main dish.

Gosh, What Will I Do This Christmas!

No matter what one says, Christmas is great and every loves it. It gradually grows on you… if you know what I mean. I just thought of buying presents, decorations, roast turkey and other things but that’s about it – never built up on that and now, it’s the second day of December and I am panicking. Just a few weeks to go and what have I done, what will be the Dinner, what will I do for the guests and above all what am I going to do for the presents, I haven’t bought anything as yet and there seems to be no time at all. Gosh am I late! No, I don’t think it’s very late, there is still time, if I organise things for myself I know I will be fine.

Actually its better I might get some better deals with the new VAT rates in UK and with more competitive pricing done by retailers.

Therefore my dear disorganised friends; you don’t have to worry much, the World Wide Web has given us the luxury of being lazy and still getting things done on time. There is online shopping which will sort us out this Christmas as well. There is a massive range of last minute gifts at one place so you don’t need to spend ages looking around for the perfect present.

If you’re planning to buy something for the kids there are loads and loads of stuff available, hope you don’t get confused with what to buy. Keep an eye on the Remote Controlled toys, they are nice and kids just love them. Please be aware that some of the grown ups might end up fighting for them.

The biggest concern that I have is what to do for the Christmas party, one thing is decided, we are not going out this time, one it’s too expensive and two our previous two years have been at places which we too crowded. This year it’s going to be home-sweet-home. Hmmm…., organising and making a Christmas Party successful is not an issue with me any more, there are so many things that can be done….

You can now buy a range of party games for every age group and taste. There are games which the kids would love and then there are those for the family. Grand dads and the toddlers can all have fun together. There are games for us grownups, games which bring some banter and loads of fun with them. Actually organising a party and making is successful should not be a concern for anyone at all.

Actually the dinner is also sorted… at least from the decoration side. There are placement mats, which one can go for, there are some good variety of clocks and decoration items and there are some very pleasingly priced mats and stuff which look very trendy and fashionable. Wine Thermometer, Invisible Shelf and others are some things which are worth considering.

How often has it happened that we give a Christmas Card to our dear ones and after sometime it disappears. All the effort that we took to think and write a nice message is wasted. This Christmas, there should be some consideration given to the Carve Your Own Wooden Card. I am going to put in a little bit of extra effort and going to convey a message that will last forever. This is one thing which I think is a must have in my Christmas List….I am going to get it no matter what and am going to tell someone very special what I really feel. I can’t say that it will be as good as a Rose, but I am sure it will carry a similar message. It doesn’t get much more romantic than that.

Next on the list, some stuff for the “Carbon footprint folks” I know. They will get the eco-friendly gifts this time. Solar powered gadgets can be one good thing for the guys or solar powered mobile phone chargers for the ladies especially when it is in pink. There can be some re-cycled stuff also for the Geeky lads that are there!

Can’t leave the grown-ups. Dads and lads of all ages go absolutely crazy for the Remote Controlled stuff that is around. Keep an eye on the Indiana Jones Giant Ant, this is something that is new this year and I can see him crawling like a baby running after it. Remote Controlled Helicopters are another thing which is going to bring out the child from within the Daddy.

Remember Christmas should not be a quite evening that we want to spend, the fun of Christmas Day is when there are kids shouting at the top of their voices with excitement as they open their presents, fights and screams that come for some party game going around somewhere in the house, a highly competitive game happening between the children and granny or the lads shouting loud like kids playing with a toy and trying to bring the roof down. That is what is Christmas all about and that is how it should be. So go online and do a few clicks and your Christmas will be a memorable one, you should not worry about time but should start thinking about pouring yourself a cup of Christmas cheer.

What to Give As A Corporate Gift

Corporate gifts can be given for many reasons, from thanking a faithful customer to celebrating a promotion or anniversary to more private celebrations like the birth of an employee’s child or their new marriage. Deciding when to give a corporate gift is as easy as noticing a special event, from an anniversary of employment to a particularly tricky project having been successfully navigated.

What can get challenging is deciding what to give employees for these kinds of landmarks, and this is where things can indeed get tricky if you are not careful of your choices. For example, when giving out gifts at work for semi-common milestones like five and ten year anniversaries, you have to be careful not to unintentionally (or intentionally) show favoritism by giving out many different gifts that could be perceived as better or worse. Instead, think about buying a batch of corporate gifts like a set of nice clocks. That way you will always be able to hand out the same gift for the same milestone for all of your employees.

For something less common, such as promotions, a standard gift like a business card holder might be just fine, but you can also get away with personalizing the gift a little more. You can take a little bit more of a risk and present them privately with a bottle of wine or other spirits, or you can make their corporate gift something special to them or to the position to which they are moving within the company.

With customers, the chance of hurting the feelings of those not receiving gifts is minimized, and the gifts can become more (or less) extravagant, and can be extremely personalized from contact to contact depending on what you want to convey and how valuable each customer is to you and to your business. This level of personalization is a great relief because you can feel free to spend as much or as little on each customer as you feel that customer merits without being concerned about favoritism or jealousy. You can give anything from a decent but inexpensive watch to a fine crystal paperweight or just about anything in between.

There are many options for promotional gifts, and these can range from alcohol, which should not be given lightly, to plaques, very nice pens or stationary sets, or beer mugs filled with candies or other small items. You can give out watches or clocks, or more off the wall gifts like joke gift sets or other corporate gifts. The choices are wider, even, than the reasons to give them, and allow for a great deal of selection and personalization.

The best corporate gifts are either personalized to the situation or are highly office friendly, making things like alcohol, candles, or bath sets very risky gifts to give since they can send the wrong impression. The best bet is to make sure that the gifts come from the company, and are appropriate to have at work, too.

Personalised Anniversary Gifts for Him – The Perfect Accompaniment to Sky Sports and Beer

Okay, so he’s useless at remembering it. And it sometimes leaves you wondering why on earth you bother. But it is your anniversary, and in among hogging the remote and leaving the toilet seat up, he’s alright really. You’ve just got to find something that tells him so. Thankfully, with so many personalised anniversary gifts for him now available, it’s an easy enough job to pull off.

If he’s a footie fan, for example, your task’s dead simple. Online, you’ll find a number of possibilities, from personalised football books to football gift experiences. The former is a particularly popular present that takes a look through his club’s history using tabloid-sized reprints from reports and articles written at the time. They typically go back to the early part of the 20th century and wind up at the end of last season. You can even personalise the book with his name and a message. As for the experience days, there are plenty of clubs who offer stadium tours and various hospitality packages, so if he’s a fan of one of the big boys, that’s another option to think about.

Mind you, that’s not to say anniversary gifts for him are all about the beautiful game. On the contrary, there are also loads of personalised goodies that he’s bound to love. A little tipple is a pretty good way to go, with both wine and spirits available. Wine-wise, you’ve got red, white and rosé, while spirits come in the form of vodka and whisky. Every bottle, regardless of which one you go for, can be personalised with his name and a brief message. And there’s even the option of putting it into a gift set with an original newspaper from a date of your choice.

Or how about something a little more out of this world? First off, there’s a gift pack that allows you to name a star after him. And second, there’s the chance to own an acre of the moon! Included in the gift pack is the lunar deed, a sight map, the lunar constitution and bill of rights, as well as the ownership transcript. Obviously it makes for a fun gift, but just imagine the lunar-based, Grand Designs-style development opportunities if we ever colonise it!

Personalized groomsmen gifts will remind them of you, and are something that they will always cherish and treasure.

Depending on your choice, groomsmen gifts may be the same or individualize. Perhaps you can buy them neck ties, in their favorite color or your wedding colors, with their embroidered initials. They would not only appreciate their tie being personalized, but they would also enjoy using your gift for years! Other embroidered gifts your consider are personalized gym bags, caps, robes and towels.

Another great gift idea you can give to each of your groomsmen is a personalized pocket knife. Pocket knives are tools that can be utilized anywhere they would like to go to, especially outdoor. If your buddies enjoy fishing or hunting, personalized pocket knives would be very useful to them. You can have each knife engraved with name or initials of each groomsman.

Barware! Beer mugs, shot glasses, flasks, wine glasses, bottle openers, wine stoppers, cocktail shakers and the likes are a few barware choices you may consider buying for your buddies. For example, you can buy them tickets to a major league game, if they are all sports fanatics. Or, you can send them to a spa where they will enjoy a pampering and relaxing gift from you.
