What I Did to Lose Belly Fat in Record Time – Read and Learn
I have to admin that I have a liking for beer and fast food. That’s ok when you are younger but if, like me, you are heading into your ‘middle years’ then the inevitable consequence of this is that you start to put on a bit of weight. Unfortunately, for most middle aged men, this tends to gather first around your abdominal area – the so called ‘Beer Gut’. I actually put on quite a bit of belly fat before I decided that enough was enough and I had to lose some, but I learned quite a few valuable lessons along the way. Read on as I tell you what were my most effective ways to lose belly fat, and what was basically a waste of time.
First, and most obvious, of all, was I had to change my diet. I’ve always hated rabbit food so the prospect of living on lettuce leaves and sunflower seeds really didn’t appeal to me. However, with a bit of research I actually found that many of the foods I already enjoyed were good for me, it was just how I was eating them that was the problem. First I had to do some serious portion control. I started to eat smaller meals more regularly. I also changed the way I cooked my food. I steamed chicken instead of getting it rolled in batter and spices and deep fried. Of course, vegetables, wholemeal bread and plenty of fruit came onto the menu, and off went things like burgers, pizzas and fizzy drinks. That wasn’t so bad actually and I soon started to lose belly fat with a vengeance.
The only thing that I really didn’t enjoy was cutting out alcohol. I have to admit that I haven’t cut it out altogether but I have started drinking a few glasses of wine rather than beer and that has also made a difference. You can now buy ‘low calorie’ wine which actually tastes great. Anyway, its my one little indulgence.
Next up was exercise. I have always been a bit of couch potato so, again, the thought of running for miles or spending hours in the gym really did nothing for me. Luckily I found out about internal training and I’m so glad I did. With interval training you do short bursts of high impact exercises such as sprinting that get your metabolism really firing. This means that instead of running an hour on a treadmill, you are only having to work out for 15-20 minutes per day. Perfect!
After about 2 weeks I had lost an amazing 10 pounds from my belly just by doing these simple steps, and eventually, 6 months down the line I have lost nearly 4 stone in weight. I feel better, look better and still manage to enjoy some of life’s little luxuries without feeling to guilty. I recommend you get started now and follow my lead. Good luck.
